Introduction:

After over ten years experience running a bespoke tour company in French Cathar country I returned to Oxford in 2019.

With Art History and History from Oxford Brookes University and through renovating a castle in France I acquired insights into how and why buildings are loved, replaced and transformed. My tours of Oxford's fascinating and often surprising history cover the highlights of the University and tucked away gems that make Oxford such a special delight.

Clients typically say that my enthusiasm is infectious.

The scholars, chroniclers, royalty, martyrs, pioneers, and scientists are just some of the ingredients of over one thousand years of Oxford's absorbing story that I like to include in my tours.

Each tour can becustimised to meet your interests and requirements.

Favourite topics include stained glasss, the Reformation, the Civil War, Architecture and the Scientific Revolution.

Visits inside Oxford Universities colleges include Christchurch, New College, Exeter College, All Soul's College, St John's College, Balliol College, Wadham College and Jesus College.

The walk and talk will typically include an introduction to the origins and growth of the City, the University, its colleges and student life today.

I am experienced in large and small groups, however am not equipped with my own amplification system.

Personal Interests:

Stained glass history in Oxford. The religious origins, wealth and independence of Oxford's college's mean that many period where glass has been destroyed, sold or neglected is still in in place to be admired. The intimate spaces in Oxford and short distance between sites make Oxford a really special place to discover the arts of coloured glass
