I have an Archaeology BA from the University of Reading. My special interests are Prehistoric landscapes, monuments and rock-art. I have dug stone circles in Aberdeenshire and conducted my own dig and fieldwork in Cumbria.

I am a qualified Preventive Conservator MA experienced in caring for historic collections. I am a curator in an historic house and I love all the back stories to the artefacts and people who owned them.

I managed a local folk museum for many years and I find it a fascinating and environment. There are many hidden gems held in stores and private handling or viewing sessions are amazing!

I am an artist and although I specialize in animal portraits, I have a deep appreciation of most genres. I am particularly interested in artists who have lived and worked in Cumbria and how they were inspired by their surroundings.

I enjoy working with people researching their family tree. I have designed itineraries based on where ancestors lived and worked so the descendants could walk in the footsteps of their forefathers.

West Cumbria has a wealth of Industrial Heritage., from Bobbin making to the Iron industry, to coal mining and everything in between. I have been lucky to have worked in heritage settings that celebrated these industries

Throughout Cumbria there are some fascinating Churches and religious buildings. I have become interested not only in the fabric of the buildings but the iconography and ideology surrounding them from the early cross shafts to the priories and abbeys up to the dissolution.
