Introduction:

"Rowan has a wealth of information to share and he’s a delight to be around. Our full-day tour was interesting from start to finish. Rowan also gave us a bit of history of London as we walked from one museum to the next. He tailored the tour to our likings and worked a delicious lunch into the day as well. He’s personable, knowledgeable and friendly. Highly recommend!" G&SS, North Carolina

"Your total command and delivery of the information was complete and professional.  We couldn't have asked for a better escort. Your enthusiasm, passion and sense of humor made this a special day for us." JB, New York

"The way you designed the day was brilliant ... Your depth of knowledge and ability to make the subject matter come alive over the course of the tour made the day an unmitigated success for us." BJ, Texas

I have always loved art, architecture, history and, of course, living in London, and I want to show the London that I love to those who share my passions. And I believe strongly that there is no point paying for a tour if you do not learn new and interesting things, and there is no point paying for a tour if it is not entertaining.  You are on holiday and my job - and my pleasure - is to help you enjoy yourself!

Guiding is my second career. After a history degree from Oxford, I qualified as a solicitor (attorney) and spent 37 years at a leading City law firm. I loved using my expertise to help clients solve their problems, and I am now using a different expertise to help clients understand and appreciate the wonderful things that London has to offer.

In these strange COVID days I represented the Institute of Tourist Guiding in getting access for tourist guides to the "We're Good to Go" certification from Visit Britain, which confirms compliance with best practice in handling guests in a safe manner. I was one of the first guides to receive this accreditation.

I specialise in small groups, on walking tours or visits to some of London's great sites or museums.  You will find further details on my web site (link above) - or ask me to research and design a walk to suit your interests.  If you are prevented from travelling by COVID restrictions or for any other reason, we can do a virtual tour together, on Zoom or whatever other technology is convenient for you.

However we do it, we'll have fun!
