Roberta loves the past and how it has shaped our present and future. She particularly passionate about our industrial heritage and how it has transformed our landscape, and the people who toiled & their stories, and the skills, materials & implements utilised. Studying Industrial Archaeology & Heritage Management at the Ironbridge Institute, (University of Birmingham), Roberta was awarded with a Masters Degree. As Manager of Beorma Tours, she offers Panoramic & Walking Tours of the varied and cultural rich Heart of England from the canals, and industrial & the Arts heritage of Birmingham to the 'black & white' villages of Herefordshire, and the medieval Colleges of Oxford & the City's university connections of J R R Tolkien & Lewis Carroll to the musical heritage of Elgar's Worcestershire. Specialist & themed tours are available such as Literature & Arts, Industry and Museums and Galleries.
Always purporting to be entertaining, to tell a story, Roberta enthusiastic and engaging; she has been advised by a certain prestigious academic institution that their subsequent tour visits were programmed around her availability. 'Roberta was three times better than anyone else'.
Roberta has a wealth of experience within the Tourism industry, and has worked for both a major American tourism Company and British travel companies.
Later, after studying Museum Studies at the University of Leicester, Roberta worked with Birmingham Museums' Service engaged with both Life Long Learning, and School programmes.
A proud 'Brummie', Roberta is well placed as your local Guide to present our Second City & all it has to offer, from the famous Jewellery Quarter to the Cadbury Bournville estate.
Guiding for over 22 years, guiding is, indeed, Roberta's passion. She is proud to have qualified as a Blue badge Guide and to present the wonderful Heart of England.
