Introduction:

I graduated university in 2007 with a BA Hons in English Literature and Linguistics from the University of Birmingham.

I have been a tour guide since leaving university in 2007 and I cannot think of anything I would rather do with my time.

Originally I planned to go into lexicography and do my MA in that subject, but I realised that if I did that I would spend the rest of my working life in an office. I adore being outside: walking, hiking, horse riding, driving. I wanted to do things and see places.

Cue the move. I had been in Birmingham for 10 years and felt like a change, so I moved to the small coastal town of Lyme Regis which features in The French Lieutenant's Woman by the author John Fowles and Persuasion by Jane Austen Two of my favourite authors.

After moving to Lyme Regis I founded some walking tours with a literary theme - Literary Lyme Walking Tours, which now operates as LL Tours. LL tours (along with myself as a tour guide and repertoire) has grown considerably over the last 11 years and now provides pierside services, managers and itinerary planning to the cruise and coach travel industries.

As a guide I enjoy garden tours, castles, prehistoric sites, World Heritage Sites and more. I have worked extensively in the cruise industry (since 2012) and have visited many places with very many groups on coach tours and city walking tours.
