Introduction:

Born and raised in London, I cannot remember a time when my own natural curiosity was not evident, exploring the history and culture of the city, leading inevitably to a passion for it which I still retain today, half a century later. I am also a freelance writer and lecturer on art and design history which I am also passionate about. I have truly found my vocation in guiding, sharing those passions with tourists of this wonderful country, with its historical heritage and eccentric traditions. My forte is driver guiding small groups and families. Visit my website for full details

Stately Homes & Country Houses

There are just so many wonderful houses open to the public across the UK, from modest country cottages that belonged for example to the writer Virginia Woolf to the stately homes such as Blenheim Palace, birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill. These homes are filled with many momentos of the residents life and are often presented as though they have just 'popped out' for a while and will entertain us on their return.
