Hello ! My name is Maggie Morgan. I live on the Kent, Surrey border and have a passion for history, our shared heritage and the natural environment. I run, cycle, walk and climb, whilst sharing my love of Kent, Surrey and Sussex and all that is unique, amazing and fascinating about these counties.
From the Romans, to the Roses that grow in our hedgerows, the South East is rich in layers of history and natural beauty.

Stately Homes & Country Houses
As a former Director and General Manager of the National Trust for 20 years, I have first hand ,behind the scenes knowledge of country houses across Kent and Surrey, their families and their secrets ! Specialising in Sir Winston Churchill and Chartwell I was responsible for this National Trust property for 15 years, meeting Mary Soames, Churchill's daughter on many occasions.
I have a strong emotional connections with Vita Sackville West - the heiress who had to 'give up' her beloved Knole. Later going on to create, with her husband Harold Nicolson the world famous garden of Sissinghurst.
Personal favourites also include Penshurst Place, Knole and Ightham Mote.

Countryside
With the North Downs, the Greensand Way and the Vanguard Way on my doorstep I can take you along the trails and byways of this beautiful part of the English Countryside. My intimate knowledge of these trails, means I am an ideal guide to ensure you have a fun and informative guided walk. A great place to start is the 3 castles walk (Hever Castle, Chiddingstone Castle, Penshurst Place) or on the Trails around Chartwell and Emmett's garden with a great pub at the end!

Gardens
Kent, Sussex and Surrey are blessed with incredible gardens - be they historic, such as Penshurst Place, or contemporary, as is Great Dixter. Lesser known gems include Nymans, Emmetts Gardens, Ightham Mote and Scotney Castle Gardens.
Kent is home to perhaps the most well known garden in England, Sissinghurst. Come with me and find out how this garden was created.
