Introduction:

'We both thought our guide was quite exceptional and would interest anybody in what she was saying; so well versed in her subject without being too academic..' March 2018 feedback following tour of the British Museum.

Join me.

I specialise in private tours of London, as well as Galleries and Museums - particularly the V&A, the British Museum, Westminster Abbey, National Gallery, The Tower of London and River cruises. My hobbies include writing and drawing.

I take groups on panoramic coach tours and accompany groups and individuals to Greenwich, Windsor, Oxford, Canterbury, Salisbury and Stonehenge, as well as other regional locations on request.

But I also enjoy researching and customising experiences for visitors who want something a little different, more tailor made.

I spent 15 years as an International Tour Director before becoming a Blue Badge Guide. I love working with young people.

I lived in France on and off for about 7 years and worked as a Tour Manager in France over many years. I am bilingual with French.

My calendar here is rarely updated so do just pop me an email to check my availability.

I look forward to hearing from you!

Special Interests:

Art/Paintings & Sculpture

I have practised fine art, as well as loving nothing more than time dwelling on the Art of others. London has an unrivalled choice of museums and galleries for every taste. Whether you want highlights at the National Gallery or V&A, a leisurely wander or more in-depth study, let me be your knowledgeable companion. Or join me on a Sketch-and-Study tour in London. See my website for more information.

Museums

One object can be the portal into a much larger story about society or humanity itself. Whether it is the Rosetta stone at the British Museum or Tipu's Tiger at the V&A, armour at the Wallace Collection, or Jewels at the Tower, I can tease out their stories for you and show you why they matter today in 2018.

Maritime Britain

Royal Greenwich, London's Docks and more recently Canary Wharf, are fabulous places to go to hear about Britain's vital connection to the seas. The teeming trade and life on the River Thames from Roman times to now, shaped our nation. From the City to Greenwich World Heritage Site, from pubs to parks, the stories are rich and sometimes raucous. If you are interested in Henry VIII or spices and tea, come with me.

Archaeology

If you are into bits of old mosaic, Assyrian lion hunt reliefs, Roman wall or Saxon treasure - you're in good hands.

Churches & Cathedrals

Let me introduce you to the wonders of St Paul's Cathedral or Westminster Abbey.

Walking Tours

Come on my walking tours of:
-The City of London x 2
-Greenwich from the Pier up to the Royal Observarory
-Royal and Political London Westminster to Trafalgar Square via Buckingham and St James' Palaces OR
-My introduction to London starting at the River Thames at Embankment and working our way up to Picadilly Circus via Trafalgar and Leicester Squares.

Fashion

Join me to discover the corsets, crinolines, muslins and silks from 1750 to the 21st century, from mantuas to punk, in the Fashion court at the V&A.

Royalty

From Westminster Abbey to Windsor Castle - we just can't get enough of the Royals. Find out who is who, who lives where, where others are buried and what really goes on at the Queen's favourite homes.
