Introduction:

A Londoner born and bred, my enthusiasm for London and its history comes from a childhood spent exploring the sights and attractions of London.

A qualified London Blue Badge, City of London and City of Westminster Guide, I spent 29 years working in London’s financial sector before deciding to pursue my passion for London, combining it with my love of history and walking to set up London Town Tours to share that passion for London with others.

My background in the financial sector includes creating and delivering training programmes, front-line customer service and project management – all skills that I use to ensure that you have an enjoyable, interesting and memorable experience.

I lead walking tours on a wide range of subjects, including Royal Secrets and Scandal, Follow the Fire, City Villains and Heroes, and Charles I and the Civil War – a tour that I led as part of the BBC documentary ‘The Stuarts’ in 2014. I also regularly guide in the Tower of London, Westminster Abbey, St Paul’s Cathedral, British Museum, National Gallery, Windsor, Greenwich and other major visitor attractions. In addition, I often take large and small groups to places such as Stratford upon Avon, Oxford, Stonehenge, Bath and Canterbury, among others.

As well as introducing visitors to London’s wonderful and exciting heritage, Julie leads tours for corporate clients (as social events or breakout sessions on team building days), clubs and associations, adult education groups and the National Trust. She also delivers talks on various aspects of London’s history to clubs and local history groups.

In addition to leading tours, Julie combines her guiding skills with her background as a trainer to train guides and staff at various visitor attractions to deliver tours, thereby enhancing their service offering for their visitors.

Clients include The Museum of London, The View From The Shard, U3A groups, Women's Institute, Alexandra Palace, and Shakespeare's Globe.

Do get in touch whether you want a visit to a London attraction, a day trip to a heritage site, or an interestinga nd entertaining talk. Bespoke tours and lectures can be arranged.
