Introduction:
As an experienced Yorkshire Blue Badge Guide, I have conducted walking tours, coach tours, drawn up bespoke itineraries for visitors and assisted with the organisation of large scale group events such as conferences, charter trains and cruise ships.
Travellers to Yorkshire have the opportunity to experience a diverse range of activities. My special interests centre around walking tours and coach tours of specific areas of the county with an emphasis on the Yorkshire Coast, Yorkshire Dales and the North York Moors. As well as general tours of the beautiful countryside, my itineraries can be based around many different themes such as television series, films, literature, the arts, industrial heritage, castles, stately homes, abbeys and churches. Some of my favourite places and themes include York, Harrogate, Whitby, Castle Howard, Fountains Abbey, Howarth, Herriot and Heartbeat tours.
In my spare time I enjoy reading, walking, visiting the theatre and cinema and attending concerts. I sing in a local choir and love many different aspects of music from classical to 1960s pop. As a long standing member of the National Trust, I help fund raise and organise trips on behalf of our local support group. When time allows, I enjoy following up my interest in history with trips both abroad and at home.
Combining all my knowledge, interests and love of Yorkshire, I hope to enhance the visitor experience to God's own county.
