Introduction:

I am a young member of the Guild and as a Blue Badge Guide I have enjoyed meeting groups with enthusiasm and a sense of humour. It is with great pleasure that I show visitors round the wonderful city of Plymouth.

Plymouth fortifications: To include the Royal Citadel (excellent example of 17th century star shaped fortress), Mountbatton and Royal William Yard (some of finest 19th century architecture in Europe).

Industrial Heritage

Tours of a Gin distillery where the famous Plymouth gin has been made since 1793. Also coach tours of Industrial Archaeology on Dartmoor and in Cornwall.

Literature

Agatha Christie mile - many of the places that were inspirational in the life and works of Agatha Christie. Tonne Abbey, Princess Pier and the Pavilion

Regional Tours

My coach tours encompass historic Barbican, the famous Hoe, Plymouth Sound, wonderful views of the Dockyard and (warships) and Cornwall, overlooking Brunel's fantastic Saltash Bridge.

Walking Tours

Discovery walks, run walks in and around the historic Barbican area of Plymouth, including passing the Mayflower steps (Pilgrim Fathers 1620) and Elizabethan merchant houses and gardens.

Countryside

Tours of Dartmoor-including its famous Napoleonic prison. Hound of Baskerville land. Buckfast Abbey - its monks famous for their honey, tonic wine and stained glass.

Maritime Britain

Tours from maritime Plymouth (largest warship dockyard in western Europe) to Dartmouth(Brittania Royal Naval College), quaint, lovely higgedly piggedly town on River Dart.

Gardens

Tim Burtons film Alice in Wonderland was filmed in Cornwall at Antony House. Enjoy the scenery and the backdrop to the film whilst staying in Plymouth or Cornwall
