Introduction:

Born in Lancashire, I have had a long-standing love of history & folklore, especially that of my native North West. I have been actively involved in promoting & interpreting this part of the British Isles for many years, with over three decades of experience in the fields of tourism, heritage & hospitality.

After studying Performing Arts in Blackpool, I went on to receive a Degree in Heritage & Landscape from the University of Plymouth in 1999. From 2001 to 2003 I gained two NVQs in Travel Services at Lancaster University. In 2004 I was awarded a Blue Badge from the Institute of Tourist Guiding for Lancashire & The North West. I am currently a member of The Institute of Tourist Guiding, The British Guild of Tourist Guides & The North West Tourist Guides Association.

I am based in Lancaster, Lancashire’s ancient County Town, offering a wide range of talks and tours, exploring the rich and diverse history of the north of England. I am delighted to be able to pass some of my enthusiasm for the past on to others through my award-winning tour guiding activities!
