As a former member of the Band of the Scots Guards and a professional musician you will appreciate that I am well placed to tell the inside story of London`s pomp and circumstance and of London as an international music centre. Tours on foot cover subjects as diverse as London as Handel and Haydn knew it, the Jewish East End, Royal London, Notting Hill/Portobello Road, London`s Dockland and many others.
Having worked at the National Gallery, one of the World`s great art galleries, I would be delighted to guide you around the Nation`s picture collection! The `National` contains work by European masters from the 13th to early 20th centuries. As well as paintings by artists such as Monet, Rembrandt, Turner and Van Gogh, the Gallery also houses what has been described as the greatest collection of Italian Renaissance paintings in the World.
I have a broad knowledge of both world wars so whether you want to visit one of London`s military museums, the Imperial War Museum, a Blitz themed walk, the Churchill War Rooms or even take a trip out to Essex and Suffolk to see some of the many former WW2 8th USAAF airfields, I am happy to discuss your itinerary.
The recent coronavirus lock down whilst unfortunate, has enabled me to work on new tours and upgrade my knowledge. I am happy to offer tours to Suffolk, Essex and my native Hertfordshire. Wonderful countryside, picturesque towns and villages and magnificent churches, stately homes and castles.
