A graduate in Geography from Oxford University, with 20 years' management experience in the passenger transport industry. Widely travelled throughout Britain - with particular knowledge of the North of England.

Chairman of Cumbria County Council in both 2014/15 and 2016/17. Town Mayor of Kendal in 2005/2006 and a Cumbria County Councillor from 2005 until 2023.

Guiding with groups and corporate clients - including Irish, Dutch, Belgian, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Maltese, Israeli, American, Canadian, Chilean, Australian, New Zealand, Japanese, Korean, Filipino, Thai, Malaysian, Arabian, Indian, Pakistani and Chinese visitors.
