I am a qualified nurse and run a part-time bed and breakfast business. Born and brought up on a mixed farm, rural affairs and the countryside (plus gardens, history & literature) have always been of abiding interest.
|Literature including Jane Austen|
Most of my family is involved in agriculture and I maintain a keen interest.
I was brought up in the depths of the countryside and have always been interested in the formation, traditions and way of life.

|Sports & Pastimes||
Racing - flat and national hunt. All sports except football.
|Churches & Cathedrals||
So much of English life. History is here. My religion is important to me.
|Folklore & Traditions||
Mummers plays, point-to-points, sheepdog trials, apple feasts, wassails, sweeps' festivals; even the Bognor birdman! What a variety.
|Food & Drink||
Tasty locally grown food is of interest to us all - we can follow its development from field to plate - or glass.
|History & Prehistory||
England's own invasion beaches - Roman & Norman. Many historic figures have made their mark on the South East
Rudyard Kipling, Jane Austen, Charles Dickens, the Bloomsbury set, Fanny Burney, E F Benson, Conan Doyle, Hilaire Belloc - what a feast.
|Stately Homes & Country Houses||
Wonderful buildings with treasures galore, following the development of civilised living. Houses that have matured over the centuries.
