Introduction:

Tour Guide for the Wessex Region: Hampshire, Wiltshire, Dorset and the Isle of Wight. Hire me to interpret the landscape, culture, geology, history, architecture, art and stories of the region, either from a coach, car or on foot.

Trained as an expert Blue Badge Guide in the South Central region, with a degree in History as background, I will look after your group exceptionally while helping them deeply experience the area in the time they have.

Leave the planning to me, I will make sure your group don’t miss a thing they want to see, see some things they didn’t know they wanted to see, have a few ‘wow’ moments, get around safely and easily and feel they’ve had an extraordinary experience to go home with.

I live near Winchester and have a special knowledge of that city and it’s surrounds (I am a qualified Green Badge guide for the city too) and Hampshire is where I consider myself a ‘local’. I wrote the book ‘The Little Book of Hampshire’ which you may see stocked in book and gift shops around the county. But I have lived in Dorset and Wiltshire too and also know these counties well.

Hardy’s Dorset, Jane Austen’s Hampshire, Nelson’s Naval Portsmouth, Titanic’s Southampton, King Alfred’s Anglo-Saxon Wessex, the royal medieval city of Winchester, the beauties of the Dorset Coast, the idiosyncracies of the New Forest, the mysterious sarsen stones of Wiltshire, the great cathedrals of Winchester, Portsmouth and Salisbury. Let me guide you around them all and discover the layers of history and culture.

What clients say about me:
“Firstly a big thank you for the walk yesterday I know the guide [me] only stepped in on the day but she did a great job and really brought it all to life.”

“a lady who went on to your last tour with her grandchildren called to say how much they all enjoyed it. She was also very proud that her grandchildren absorbed so much info they were able to tell their mum all about King Alfred.”

“We all thought you really brought the subject to life… It made us look at Winchester in a new light knowing about all those ancient waterways hidden under the streets. Thank you for organising the walk so we could all have a sit down as well.”

“It is well-led by a guide who has researched the story and its characters well, is flexible and responsive to visitors' needs….. By turns, it is poignant, surprising and inspiring. It's well worth the time and the price” (on my Medieval Jewish Winchester Tour)

“Thank you very much for the tour. Everyone really enjoyed themselves and were VERY complimentary about their guide. They were very impressed with your depth of knowledge, the clarity with which you spoke and what a really lovely person you were!”
