Introduction:

Ever since graduating from Oxford in 1989 (St John’s College, MA Hons Ancient and Modern History) I have been working in travel and tourism. In 2005/6, after many years’ experience working as a tour leader across Europe and creating and organising clients’ itineraries, I chose to qualify as a Blue Badge Guide for London and the South East. A Londoner born and bred, I have lived in and loved my native city all my life. It is one of my great pleasures to share my knowledge, enthusiasm and passion for London and the surrounding regions with locals, visitors and tourists alike. I work with individuals, familes and groups, both student and adult. Being a fluent French speaker, I am qualified to guide in this language as well as my native English, so my clients come from far and wide – from across the United Kingdom, from Paris to Lausanne, from California to Quebec. I like to be as flexible as possible in tailoring my tours to the needs and specifications of my clients. The scope of these tours is extremely wide – highly focused visits to the inexhaustible range of museums, galleries, churches and historic palaces that pepper the city; panoramic coach tours for first-time visitors; intimate and detailed walking tours, in Hampstead or Little Venice, for example, around Legal London or following in the footsteps of Charles Dickens; thematic vists like Maritime Greenwich, Theatreland or the London Olympics; day trips (and longer excursions) to nearby world-renowned destinations such as Windsor Castle, Oxford, Straford-upon-Avon and the Cotswolds. I hope to entertain, inform and enhance any visitor’s experience to this endlessly fascinating corner of the world.
