Introduction:
Hello, my name is Amber.
A few things about me. I am a born and bred Londoner so I absolutely adore my home city, but I love travel too, which means I'm always excited about exploring new places as well as taking other travellers (like you) around the places I love. I have been working in tourism on and off since 2013, both in the UK and briefly in Australia, and in 2020 I qualified as a professional Blue Badge Tour Guide for London and the South East of England. I love history, I have a History degree, and I think tourism is the perfect way to make sure I always keep learning, meeting new people, while also giving me a career where the world is my office!
Hopefully I will have the pleasure of meeting you too.
Due to Covid-19 and restrictions on travel and gatherings, I've taken my tours virtual! They all take place on Zoom - super easy and all the information you would normally receive on a regular tour, but this time, you don't even need to leave the comfort of your own home!
Special Interests:
Theatre | I feel privileged to live in London near the world-class West End! I love the theatre and I am a huge fan of the National Theatre and musicals like Lion King and Les Mis. Theatre has had a fascinating history in London which I'd love to share. |
Museums | We are also incredibly lucky to have such excellent museums in London, from Natural History to Science to Design. A visit with a guide is a perfect addition to your London holiday. |
Art/Paintings & Sculpture | A large part of my History degree was Art History - I absolutely love it. I spend lots of time in London's art galleries anyway so we may as well go together! |
Literature | Harry Potter, Charles Dickens, Philip Pullman, Shakespeare, T.S. Eliot, and George Orwell - need I say more?? |
Street Art | London has top quality art both inside its galleries and outside! Parts of London are vibrant with beautiful street art and we can go on the hunt for artists from Banksy to Fanakapan to Phlegm. |
London Areas in Depth | London is sometimes described as being made up of little villages, as each area has its own distinct characteristics. |
Medicine | London has been at the forefront of science and pharmacological innovation for centuries. Whether it's cutting edge research taking place in academic hubs like Bloomsbury or the history of nursing through individuals like Florence Nightingale, there are some excellent stories hiding in London's streets. |
Churches & Cathedrals | As a Blue Badge guide, we are privileged to be able to guide in sites like St. Paul's Cathedral and Westminster Abbey, both of which have histories stretching back to the 10th century. |
Shopping | Fancy some retail therapy? London is the perfect place - from high street to high end, I can take you to some of the best spots with a bit of history thrown in along the way too. |
Regional Tours | There are so many fantastic places to explore just outside London as well. |
