GUIDED TO GROWTH – 8th and 9th January 2019

January 8 @ 9:00 am - January 9 @ 5:00 pm

Tickets are not available as this event has passed.

The first educational conference focusing solely on marketing and business development skills for Blue Badge tourist guides.

Supported by ‘Live, the international tour bookings app’.

Blue Badge guides in every region and nation of the UK face an identical challenge – how to build a profitable stream of work as a professional guide.

Research by the Guild shows that Institute-accredited courses may not be equipping trainees with the skills needed to succeed in today’s fast-changing tourism sector. One-off, locally organised CPD events can help with bite-sized nuggets of training but until now, no comprehensive programme has been available.

Introducing ‘Guided to Growth’.

This 2-day educational conference will inspire forward-looking Blue Badge guides with ideas and techniques based on ‘best practice’. Specifically, the very strategies and tactics being honed to perfection by fellow Blue Badge colleagues building their businesses in today’s marketplace.

At ‘Guided to Growth’, you can put together the programme that suits your personal needs. In addition to insights from experts at Visit Britain, Expedia Group, award-winning blogger The Gentle Author and Make (Guild’s web consultants), you may select up to 6 workshops from a comprehensive menu of 11 offered by Blue Badge colleagues who truly are ‘walking the walk and talking the talk.’

Over two days, there will also be opportunities to network with colleagues from around the UK – often in itself a valuable source of future work that justifies the cost of attending – and to book 1-1 hands-on clinics with the Guild’s Office Manager or colleagues who are making presentations.

All this will take place at a time of year when Blue Badge guides plan marketing for the coming season. And in a location that combines historic academic ambiance with state-of-the-art conference facilities.

There has simply never been anything like this available before to Blue Badge guides.

If you’re a Guild member willing to invest time or money in one thing to help your guiding business to thrive in 2019, ‘Guided to Growth’ is the event you should attend.

Book your place now and benefit from the very attractive Early Booking Discount.

On behalf of the Guild’s Marketing Team, as Conference Chairman I look forward to welcoming you to Oxford next January!
