BEHIND THE SCENES TOUR OF THE PARLIAMENTARY ARCHIVES- Wed 6 Mar, 2 Tours Available
March 6 @ 10:30 am - 3:30 pm£5
This is a one hour-long tour taking place in the Victoria Tower, comprising a visit to the Well and the opportunity to see one of the strong rooms and view some original documents from our collections.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT ENTRY
For security reasons all attendees must carry photographic ID (e.g. passport, driving licence) otherwise admittance will be refused.
Visitors have to queue to go through security searches on entrance to the Palace of Westminster. We therefore advise you to arrive 15 minutes early to ensure the tour can commence at the agreed time.
IMPORTANT HEALTH AND SAFETY INFORMATION FOR ALL ATTENDEES
Visits will normally involve the use of two or three lifts. Please let us know in advance if this is likely to cause a problem for you. All visitors must be physically capable of ascending and descending spiral staircase steps independently (unsupported by walking aids). This is an essential requirement to enable evacuation in the event of a fire alarm or an emergency. Sensible footwear must be worn; flat shoes are advised due to the nature of the flooring in some areas; you will not be able to wear outdoor coats in the Victoria Tower but, as air conditioning is maintained throughout, we would advise you bring an extra layer with you for warmth. For safety and security reasons, whilst on the premises, visitors must follow any instructions given by Parliamentary Archives or security staff. Our staff reserve the right to refuse access to the Victoria Tower at any point if it is felt that the health and safety of the visitor or other members of the public would be compromised.
