This walking tour of the City’s eastern fringes and extramural neighbourhood around Brick Lane sets the context for understanding the Jewish community’s comings and goings since 11th century, and celebrates its secular and cultural heritage.
If you cannot tell a ‘beigel’ from a ‘bicycle’ or are flummoxed by ‘Sephardim’, ‘Ashkenazim’ and ‘Mitzrahim’, this is the CPD for you!
As part of the tour there is possible visit to Bevis Marks Synagogue. Entry is free for guides displaying their Institute photocard.
Cold, maybe wet weather in March. Most of the tour will be outdoors.
If you wish, bring your own earphones to use with the Vox radio headsets the guide will be using. A disposable earpiece will be available too, as usual.
