Heart of England
Although I was born in Lancashire and grew up in Yorkshire, I have lived, studied and worked in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire for over 50 years.
For over 20 years I worked as a teacher in a large comprehensive school on the outskirts of Nottingham, teaching Geography, and Outdoor Pursuits to 11 to 18 year olds.
Through my work as a teacher I have developed a deep and extensive knowledge of the Geography and History of Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire which I have been able to pass on to visitors and residents alike as a Blue Badge Guide over the past 25 years.
Now retired I am ready to share my love of the countryside in the Peak District and Sherwood Forest, through coach tours, walks and visits to historic towns and cities like Buxton, Newark and Nottingham.
For over thirty years I have lived in the heart of Sherwood Forest and count on Robin Hood and his Merry Band as friends and neighbours.
For visiting coach groups I offer a panoramic tour of the city of Nottingham, a tour through the Secrets of Sherwood Forest, a tour through the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site, a tour through the Peak District National Park, and much, much more.
