Introduction:
After graduating in History of Art from Cambridge University, I began my career working in in accountancy and finance in the City of London. The visual arts, however, have always been my main passion and so in my mid-30s I left the corporate world and spent a year living in Florence and Rome, immersing myself in the art and culture of these incredible cities. It was there that I first started working as a tour guide, and lead groups around major cultural sites such as the ancient forum and the Vatican museums.
In more recent years I have worked in financial education and training, which has further developed my skills as a communicator. I qualified as a London Blue Badge Tourist Guide in 2009, and since then have given tours and lectures for small groups and organisations such as The Arts Society.
The aim of all my tours is to
(i) Provide an insightful commentary, to enhance your knowledge and appreciation of the site or object’s historic significance and cultural value
(ii) Navigate you around comfortably and efficiently so that you can relax, focus on enjoying your cultural experience and make the most of your visit
(iii) Be a cultural ambassador for London, making you feel welcome and giving you a taste of British history, traditions and hospitality
