The objective of the programme is to prepare students to enter the tourist industry as qualified guides for the Heart of England region. Registered tourist guides are qualified by examinations set and administered by the Institute of Tourist Guiding. Those students who are successful in these examinations will be awarded the “Blue Badge” for the Heart of England. The Heart of England, one of the largest of the national tourism regions, covers nine counties/areas, which include; Shropshire, Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Staffordshire, West Midlands, Warwickshire, Gloucestershire, Cotswolds, Oxford and North Oxfordshire.
Please note: It is essential for students to have a personal e-mail address, the use of a computer and a good printer. Handouts for lectures and all communications between the Programme Director or Administrator and the students are by e-mail. (In order to keep the fees as low as possible and the use of paper to a minimum)
Cost 2015-2016 : The Programme fee is expected to be £2,950 Programme Duration: 1 year – May 2015 – March 2016
